Hello, I am quite awkward at greetings so let me just get this out in the simplest way. I'm Wendie. I'm a new teacher at MML Moriai and welcome to my first blog.
Before I transferred here in Japan, I used to work in a Private Primary school in Thailand. You see, Thailand and Japan, two countries which does not use english as their primary language, a huge adjustment was needed.
For someone who is very much uncomfortable and intimidated by changes I really took a huge leap and decided to just throw myself out there. I am someone who is always careful in making decisions. Everything is calculated and planned, I don't like uncertainty; however, life has it's own ways and sometimes opportunities come knocking at your door when you least expect them. So without planning ahead I packed my bags and left my comfort zone. It's was time for me to face change.
Change isn't as bad as how I make it out in my head. As cliche as this sounds, change is constant. No matter how we counter it, change is inevitable. It can get very frustrating at first but it's how life works and eventually we will find our balance. It can be a really long process but we will all get there. I myself is still in the process of figuring out myself and the changes in my goals. Change can be a huge shock in our system. There are days when I realise certain changes in me, simple things like how I used to hate the color pink but it is now my favourite. Our favourite food, our hobbies, our goals, our dreams, they can all change without us realising it and that is totally fine. It can get scary, feeling like a totally different person but it's part of being alive. Growth, changes; it's what makes us human.
It is somehow similar with learning a new language. It will require adjustments and learning new routines. It can be very intimidating at first but once you have established your routines and found your balance it gets better. Make room for growth and changes and do not be afraid of learning because once you get past the struggle of it you come out as a better person equipped with new skills and knowledge.
